Saint Mary’s Gives Us A Glimpse

Alex Bettencourt - February 5, 2010

saint marys college of california1 150x150 Saint Marys Gives Us A GlimpseAs a recent graduate of Saint Mary’s College in May of ’09, I remember being so excited this fall to receive my first issue of the SMC magazine.

Pam received her MBA in the 1990’s (I’m not allowed to say exactly when), but I always read her copy or my parents’ if I could get my hands on it.

The prestigious St. Mary’s Magazine is only published four times a year and is always filled with inspirational alumni stories and exciting Gael updates.

My favorite section of the magazine is “Gael Glimpses” because it displays the more personal side of alumni. And, it selectively announces the successful updates of outstanding former Gaels.

After many submissions, guess who finally made the cut in the Winter issue?!  Yours truly; our RememberItNow! team made it into Gael Glimpses. Get the sneak peek here.

2009 Wrap Up

Pamela Swingley - January 27, 2010

Looking back on 2009, it’s been an amazing first year for RememberItNow! We were very busy laying a foundation for our official launch in 2010. Before we get too far into the new year, we wanted to take a moment to share with all of you some of the highlights of 2009 for us.

Our First Workers
RememberItNow! is a lean organization, comprised of a team of people that do great work together. In 2009 we had the opportunity to work with exceptional design, marketing, public relations, software development, and quality assurance people. They all played a big role in getting RememberItNow! off the ground.

Video Fun
We made this video featuring my Dad as part of the application process for the TechCrunch50 conference. While we were not accepted, the video has become a great marketing tool for us.

Getting the Word Out
We built our marketing materials as we created the application. This way everything fits together. Here are a few of our 2009 projects:
* Our website
* Newsletter - signup to get news from us!
* This blog
* Help - really support with a marketing spin

A Prezi Love Affair
We feel in love with Prezi, the flash-based presentation service. Faced with an alternative to PowerPoint, and free to build our own exciting animated presentations we went a bit crazy for two weeks. We learned Prezi works well for small presentations, but not so great for big ones, like pitching an angel investor. The initial passion has subsided, but we still are big fans. Watch our Prezis here. (more…)

CES, Las Vegas - Come with Luggage. Leave with Baggage.

Alex Bettencourt - January 20, 2010

Our big journey to the CES was like traveling to the land of the lost. Some of you may have heard about our escapades as we bumbled along through the crowds on Twitter. For those of you who didn’t, you can hear the highlights here.

It was go, go, go, as soon as we landed - from checking into the dazzling New York, New York, to hoofing it “down the street” to Treasure Island for the Mystere Cirque de Soleil show. It is a spectacular must see!

mystere CES, Las Vegas Come with Luggage. Leave with Baggage.

Anyone who says Treasure Island is 1.3 miles away from NY, NY, is lying! (ahem, Google Maps).  It feels like 3 - 4 miles with all the stairs and crowds, but  passing the glittery scenery and the beautiful Bellagio water show helps.

Lesson 1
Wear comfortable walking shoes, but always pay attention to where you are walking. You never know if you’ll run into two little people zipping around on a motorized wheel chair. Trust me, they don’t care if you are in their way, they will run you over. It’s Vegas.

Lesson 2
Don’t wear a suit to stand out from the crowd at CES. When setting up meetings without a booth, we told our appointments to look for our fun RememberItNow! t-shirts and risque “Follow Me” Twitter tights. In the midst of all the men wearing navy or black, we were pretty noticeable. (more…)

Meet Ray - RememberItNow! Customer of the Month

Alex Bettencourt - December 9, 2009

Ray lives in the San Francisco Bay Area where he works as a manufacturers representative. During the work week, Ray’s days are filled to the brim with meetings, assignments, and a long commute.

The last thing Ray needs is Diabetes slowing him down. He shrugs, “Work is crazy, and my mind is always on the projects at hand, not on taking my pills.”

With 4-7 medications a day, regular blood sugar tests and a few medical appointments per month, staying on top of his health was a pain for Ray. He was notorious for postponing doctor’s appointments and forgetting his pills.

After hearing about RememberItNow! through a friend in July, Ray signed up for RememberItNow’s beta trial. RememberItNow! immediately helped him to take control of his health.  What he likes best are the emails he receives throughout the day reminding him to take his pills.

Ray praises RememberItNow! for improving his health condition, “If I did not get these reminders, I would forget to take my pills over half the time.” Ray says.

Taking his pills on time has improved his health and his work performance. “Without the proper meds, I zone out and I am not as productive. So, I reckon the reminders have improved my job performance.”

RememberItNow! Launches eHealth Survey Using Social Media Channels

Alex Bettencourt - December 9, 2009

Innovative online poll seeks feedback from healthcare, long-term care, and employee benefits professionals on a new eHealth service.

Orinda, CA (PRWEB) December 9, 2009 — RememberItNow! LLC, today announced the launch of a research project that leverages social media channels to gather feedback on a new patient-centric eHealth service. The online service includes medication reminders, a personal health record, and private care community.

“We built RememberItNow! by continually listening to the needs of patients and caregivers,” notes Pamela Swingley, founder of RememberItNow!

“Now that we are closer to launch, insight from a variety of industry professionals is just as critical. As a start-up in a fast-moving industry, leveraging social media channels is simply the fastest and least expensive method for us to get feedback.”

After watching an entertaining flash-based overview of the service, viewers are asked for feedback through a short poll. RememberItNow! distributed the survey presentations through several social media channels. The company aims to quickly reach a wide audience of professionals who share honest insights into the value of the eHealth service for their industry.

To clarify the benefits for each market segment, RememberItNow! designed three different presentations and polls for the following audiences:

* Employee benefits: View the presentation: HR/Benefit Professionals: Tell Us What You Think

* Long-term care: View the presentation: Long-term Care Professionals: Tell Us What You Think

* HMOs and medical groups: View the presentation: Health Care Professionals: Tell Us What You Think

Two online free tools were used to create the polls. Prezi, the revolutionary, flash-based presentation system was used to create the dynamic overviews. Prezi presentations can be quickly shared via link, or easily embedded into a blog. Survey data is captured and analyzed by SurveyGizmo, an easy-to-use web-survey tool. “Not only do these tools work really well, they both have free versions,” recommends Swingley.

The survey was distributed through social media networks, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and bloggers.  ”We started building online relationships before we wrote a single line of code,” recalls Swingley. These relationships have been key in getting early market feedback, and they became the foundation for our poll distribution.

Swingley reads every single response, and reports that early feedback has been rewarding. “Respondents have been very generous in sharing their professional insights on our concept, what they like and what we need to do better. The polls are still open, so let us know what you think.”
