At the end of 2009 there were 4.6 billion mobile phone users around the globe. By the end of 2010 this number is expected to reach 5 billion. And in 2014 Mary Meeker of Morgan Stanley predicts there will be 2,776 MM 3G global users, this means 43% of the population!
In North America 260,575,000 people are expected to have smart phones! This means 74% of the population will be busy browsing the web and text messaging away on their phones constantly!
Why is this new behavior catching the attention of health industry leaders and government officials? Because the more people have access to smart phones, the more popular mHealth will be; which leads to more money and lives saved. (more…)

These are still early days, but they are busy ones.
We couldn’t agree more with this last sentence in MobiHealthNews’ comprehensive report on the state of the wireless health industry. It’s also a good descriptor for the current state of RememberItNow!
When we started RememberItNow! we didn’t realize the full potential of the wireless health market, or how nimble we would need to be. Turns out it’s a challenge that we really love.
Brian Dolan and Joe Maillie co-founders of MobiHealthNews have their fingers on the pulse of this industry. They generously share a year of research in their free report. A real gift to start-ups that can’t afford to buy research from industry analysts. Thanks guys!
If you want to a glimpse of the future of healthcare you’ll find it here.
Inside you’ll discover impressive market opportunity numbers. The report includes a list of partnerships formed in 2009, venture capital investments, wireless carrier and care provider involvement, key industry associations, and much more.
It’s a great reference point for the year ahead. as well as a snapshot of an industry in its infancy.

Pam recently had a great interview with John Farrell, of MobileHealthWatch.com. So we couldn’t wait to share the news of our coverage in his two articles, “Software from a Patient’s Point of View“, and ”Health Care Consumers Look to SMS”. These have been featured in HealthCareGoesMobile.com and ScottishHealthCare.com too.
We were really flattered Mobile Health Watch covered us because they are known for only covering “mobility products that will revolutionize access to healthcare information.”
To be under their consideration as a revolutionary product is so rewarding.
In Farrell’s article, “Software from the Patient’s Point of View“, you can read about his observationthat, “RememberItNow! promises to be an extremely easy to use health care management tool”
Farrell is right. We do promise to be extremely easy-to-use. Every person in America has the right to take control of their health. And it’s why RememberItNow! is designed for anyone to use, no matter what age you are.
In his report, Farrell also notes, “SMS text messaging is expected to reach 3,200 billion messages per year by 2014″, he adds, “it will be interesting to see how quickly the technology’s presence mushrooms.”
We really do hope our presence mushrooms into a great big positive impact. If we are all taking the steps to improve medication compliance already, maybe we are revolutionizing healthcare more than we realize. Soon we will all truly be able to take control of our health.
